A Plum's Tale
 
 

PLUM was established

in 2006 in the memory

of beloved mother and

grandmother, Luella Smith. 

Luella's symbolic legacy of planting plum trees for the

growth and nourishment of

others is now a reality. 

Luella loved to share the plums from the

trees she planted in her backyard; and,  

as small as this gesture, Luella realized

that many children were in need.  Luella's

legacy remains strong and, as vibrant

as, the day that PLUM was founded.  Luella

believed that every man, woman, or child must

 

                                    "Share Peace, Love,

                            Understanding, and Mercy." 

 

Luella’s vision and legacy clearly rings on through the work and vision of PLUM.   PLUM needs you, share your PLUM.  A plum in the empty basket or palm of a bright, young child goes a long way.

PLUM supports programs in media, health, education, housing, and law.  PLUM is internationally aligned with organizations and members.  Members, ambassadors or volunteers, and contributors pledge an alliance that upholds Peace, Love, Understanding, and Mercy.  PLUM sponsors outreach centers where students, parents, and volunteers strive for one common goal to share peace, love, understanding, and mercy.  Children and parents need an escape from the harsh realities and constraints of life that in most cases stifle growth. Despite all obstacles PLUM helps young children excel in academics and prepares each student for the road ahead.  PLUM focuses on education while assisting youth of all ages, backgrounds, creeds, classes, and ethnic regions.  Children require mentoring,  educational instruction, counseling, and small classroom settings conducive to maximum learning.  PLUM supports the PLUM Outreach & Development Centers across the globe that include enrichment programs for youth that are victims of gangs, drugs, violence, and poverty.
